General Requirements

• Application form  (Click here)
  • The application form needs to be signed.
  • An incomplete application form will be rejected.
  • Application form for minors must be signed by both parents.
• Photos
  • 2 passport size photo in colour.
  • Photos must be 4 x 6 cm
• Original Passport
  • Passport needs to be valid for more than 6 months after return to South Africa.
• Ticket
  • Proof of an onward/return ticket
• Letter of employment
  • Stating when applicant started and salary.
  • Stating leave days.
  • Stating the reason for travel.
• Proof of accommodation
  • Proof of reservation for the full duration of stay in English and Chinese.
• Financial
  • Stamped original personal bank statements for the last 3 months

Additional Requirements for Business Visa

• Letter of invitation
  • Signed letter from the company being visited stating reason and duration of the visit.
  • A Copy of the inviters ARC/APRC or ID – Front and bank
• Letter of Employment stating they will cover all costs

Important Note

• Visa applications will be rejected if application forms are not fully completed & signed & are not accompanied by the required documents.
• There is no guarantee that a visa will be issued.
• For organized groups, arrangements should be made well in advance with the relevant issuing authority.
• Please take note that the Government of the Republic of China reserves the right to withhold the disclosure for the reasons of disapproval of a visa application and to withhold any fees deemed non-refundable.
• The Taipei Liaison Office reserves the right to request information, including supporting documentation and/or an interview with the applicant, should it be deemed necessary.
• If the flight ticket has been paid for before applying for the visa, the Taipei Liaison Office does not take responsibility for any losses should the visa not be approved.
• The Government of the Republic of China reserves the right to change any of the visa requirements without notice.
