General Requirements

  • The application form needs to be signed.
  • An incomplete application form will be rejected.
  • Application form for minors must be signed by both parents.
• Photos
  • 2 passport size photo in colour.
• Passport
  • Passport needs to be valid for more than 6 months after return to South Africa.
  • Passport needs to have at least 3 empty pages.
• Proof of domicile
  • original or certified copy of electricity/water invoice
• Itinerary
  • copy of roundtrip air ticket
• Evidence of funds
  • banks statements of the last three months must be original documents
• Proof of accommodation
  • booked in Argentina: either paid in full or guaranteed by a credit card.
• Letter of employment
  • The letter must state that the applicant is currently employed by the company.
  • Reason for his travel.
  • Duration of his trip.
  • Must state his/her yearly salary and position in the company.
  • If self-employed, you must sign an affidavit and submit a copy of your business official registration documents
  • LETTER MUST BE ORIGINAL

Additional Requirements for Business Visa

• Letter of invitation from the host in Argentina

Important Note

• Applications must be submitted in person
• Visas are not required by South African Passport holders but do need a Visa if they will be doing Technical work in Argentina.
• Visa applications will be rejected if application forms are not fully completed & signed & are not accompanied by the required documents.
• There is no guarantee that a visa will be issued.
• For organized groups, arrangements should be made well in advance with the relevant issuing authority.
• Only after the approval of visa application, a consular officer will contact the applicants for him/her to make the corresponding payment
• South African passport holders do NOT require a visa for entry into Argentina for tourism purposes for a stay of up to 90 days. They must, however, be in possession of a valid passport (valid for 6 months from the date of entry), a return air ticket and proof of sufficient funds.
• Please be aware that the passport must have a minimum of 3 blank pages.
• Minors traveling without their parents (under 18 years old) will need authorization from their legal guardians as well as a copy of their unabridged birth certificate. The “Minors authority form”  must be signed by both of the legal guardians in front of a Commissioner of Oaths. The form can be downloaded off http://cjoha.mrecic.gob.ar
• All nationalities are required to present the yellow fever certificate when coming back to South Africa from Argentina.
