Requirements
General Requirements
- Original application form for Schengen visa application (Click here)
- Filled in completely and legibly and signed by the applicant (or the legal guardian for children).
- Flash Visa Services can assist with online form
- Original Passport
- Valid for 90 days after the applicant’s last day of stay in the Schengen territory, with two blank visa pages for the visa sticker.
- Please note that the Czech Republic DOES NOT accept South African Temporary passports.
- A copy of the passport
- Only the data page with the photograph and the signature
- A recent passport sized photograph
- (3,5 x 4,5 cm)in colour to be glued, do not staple.
- Proof of financial funds for the stay at the territory of Schengen states,
- recent bank account statements showing movements over the last 3 months.
- Round trip air-ticket and itinerary
- Dates and flight numbers specifying an entry to and an exit from the territory of Schengen states.
- If more than one entry is required, a reason must be provided.
- Proof of a valid travel health insurance
- For the entire duration of the stay in the Schengen territory – a letter from the insurance company covering medical expenses, including emergency hospital treatment and repatriation (transportation) to the home country/country of residence, stating the name of the person, the policy number, the period of cover and the medical coverage equivalent of 30.000 EUR.
- Letter of Employment/School
- If the applicant is employed, he/she should attach a recent letter from the employer.
- The letter must state the employee’s name, their position, their length of service and nature of service (permanent/contractual work).
- The letter must include the purpose of and duration of this specific business trip visa that is being applied for, as well as the reason for the need for a multiple entry Schengen visas for future travel, if applicable.
- The letter must be written on letterhead and must have the date of issue, address, telephone number and position of the signatory. If the applicant is financially supported by his/her employer, this must be clearly mentioned in the letter of employment.
- Self-employed should present a registration document of the business with the relevant South African authority. 1) CIPC, Health Professions Council of South Africa or other applicable authority. 2) Registration with the South African Revenue Service (SARS). 3) If applicable, a SAICA accredited chartered accountant’s letter stating the current financial standing of the business.
- Proof of accommodation in all Schengen countries visited during the trip.
- Official Invitation from the person to be visited, if applicable, certified by the Alien Police inspectorate in the Czech Republic (it is required when a physical or a legal person invites the applicant to the Czech Republic and provides accommodation, financial support or other from the requirements list
Additional documents for business visa
- Invitation letter
- Invitation, stating name, address, telephone number and period of stay + copy of the ID of inviting person / Official Invitation issued by the Alien Police Inspectorate.
- If the trip includes visits to several countries within the Schengen Member State territory, all countries to be visited must be mentioned in the invitation letter.
- NB: The invitation letter should motivate the need for a multiple entry Schengen visas if it is foreseeable that the applicant will have more business visits to the Schengen Member State territory.
Minors under the age of 18
- Certified parental consent from both parents is required for children under the age of 18 traveling alone.
- If a child travels with only one parent, the other parent must produce a notarized (certified) consent.
- For pupils and students – an original letter from a school, a college or a university.

- The Issuing Authority requires applicants to present themselves for biometrics ON SUBMISSION. Flash Visa Services will do a quality check of documents you provide, book the visa appointment and pre-pay the visa for lodgement. A Flash Visa Services representative will meet you and guide you through the visa process on the day of your appointment.
- Once Visa is ready will Flash Visa Services collect the Passport/Visa and deliver back to the Applicant.
- Visas are required by South African passport holders.
- Visas cannot be issued on arrival.
Delay
Two calendar weeks (according to the Czech law the embassy is entitled to use 30 days to process a visa).
