General Requirements

• Application form (submitted personally)    (Click here)
  • Form to be filled out in BLOCK LETTERS.
  • Make sure that the form is SIGNED on pages 3 & 4.
• Valid passport.
  • Note: RSA passports must be valid for a period of at least 3 months beyond the applicant’s last day of stay in the country.
  • Please ensure passport has 2 blank pages to affix visa.
  • Ensure that the passport was issued no more than 10 years ago.
• Photo
  • Please ensure that you also have one photograph for the application form.
• Accommodation
  • Pre-paid voucher for a hotel in Bulgaria for the duration of stay showing the reservation number for the hotel, the address of the hotel – town, street, telephone number.
• For sports/conference/cultural events etc –
  • Invitation letter from the organizer and the state institution coordinating the event (eg Ministry of Sports, Ministry of Culture, Municipality etc)
• Flights reservation
• Bank statements for the last 3 months.
  • For credit cards – bank letter stating available funds and that the card is endorsed for overseas use. The required sum is EURO50 per day.
• Proof of employment
  • Letter from the company stating continuing employment after a period of leave and duration of vacation etc.
  • If the applicant is a student – letter of registration from school/college or university.
• Medical insurance:
  • Travel/health/accident insurance that is consistent with the EU Visa Code with a minimum medical coverage of 30 000 EURO. Applicants are to present insurance policy.

Additional documents for Business Visas

• Invitation letter
  • Invitation from the host company – it should be verified by the police and notary in Bulgaria, and a copy of it.

Additional Requirements for Minors under 18:

• Unabridged Birth Certificate must be presented
• Both parents to sign the visa application and copies of parents passports are to be attached.
• If one parent is not traveling with the child/ren he/she is to submit a written verified declaration of consent that the child/ren may travel to Bulgaria accompanied by the other parent.
• In case the child will travel accompanied by a third person, the said declaration should be by both parents.

• The Issuing Authority requires applicants to present themselves for biometrics ON SUBMISSION. Flash Visa Services will do a quality check of documents you provide,  book the visa appointment and pre-pay the visa for lodgement. A Flash Visa Services representative will meet you and guide you through the visa process on the day of your appointment.
• Once Visa is ready will Flash Visa Services collect the Passport/Visa and deliver back to the Applicant.
• Visas are required by South African passport holders.
• Visas cannot be issued on arrival.
• Visas are not required by British, E.C, USA or Israeli passport holders.
