Passport

Valid for three months after applicants return to South Africa.

Non –south African passport holders also to have a South African permit valid for three months after the applicants return to South Africa and have at least 2 blank pages to affix the visa- visa pages are labeled as such on the top.

If an applicant has dual citizenship with an EU country s/he cannot apply for a Schengen visa in the non-EU passport unless for humanitarian reasons)

Passport Copy: Biographical data page and copies of all used pages ( Including previous Schengen, Non-Schengen visa and all pages with stamps)

1 Recent colour passport photo

Not older than 3 months and not previously used – no smiling, no teeth showing, no obstructions to face, white/light background, no shadows. If the applicant is wearing specs then ensure that there is no glare/reflection in it.

Flight Reservation

Round trip flight reservation (Must show applicants name and travel dates. (does not have to be a purchased ticket, an itinerary is sufficient) TRAVEL DATE CANNOT BE IN LESS THAN 10 WORKING DAYS FROM APPLICATION DATE.

Hotel reservations for the Full stay in the Schengen State (EACH NIGHT HAS TO BE ACCOUNTED FOR) – must clearly reflect
- If staying with friends or family
  - Standard guarantee invitation form (Click here) stamped by city hall of the city of the referent. If your host in South Africa the form should be completed and taken to any Dutch Embassy or Consulate to have it stamped, SA police service certification not accepted. If your host confirms they will be sponsoring you on this form then we require their 3month bank statement in addition to yours. (EACH NIGHT HAS TO BE ACCOUNTED FOR)

Employment letter (on company letterhead and signed) confirming position, exact travel dates and salary

IF SELF EMPLOYED PLEASE PROVIDE CK DOCUMENTS – for registered companies –

LETTER FROM ACCOUNTANT/COMPANY SARS DOCUMENT – for sole proprietorship).

School letter (for students on school letterhead and signed) confirming applicant is an enrolled student and awareness of trip travel dates but the applicant will be commencing schooling after the trip.

Official Registration letters (for tertiary education students) (on letterhead and signed)

All letters must be on letterheads and signed off.

Financial Means

Most recent 3 calendar month bank statements from application date (Submission date) with an original bank stamp on each page/transaction lists for the last 3 calendar months with an original bank stamp on each page.

Cheque/savings/credit card (also no internet statements/copies will be accepted).

34 Euros per day in Schengen should be available in the banking account when submitting.)

Needed even if the applicant is being sponsored, this can be either personal or company statements.

Travel insurance visa/embassy letter.

Made out to the Dutch Embassy and specifying cover for Schengen) ensure that all applicant details are correct.

Business (All above requirements including)

Invitation letter (signed and on a host in Netherlands letterhead) must confirm exact dates of arrival and departure, the purpose of the visit and financial responsibility if any. Or conference registration.

Additional Requirements for Minors

Certified copy of unabridged birth certificate / official letter from home affairs confirming it hasn’t been issued.
Certified copies of both parents passport/driver’s license (copies of new smart ID will also be accepted but not green barcoded ID books)
For applicants traveling with one or no parents, the parental consent form (available on this website) is to be completed and certified.

Important Note

The Issuing Authority requires applicants to present themselves for biometrics ON SUBMISSION. Flash Visa Services will do a quality check of documents you provide, book the visa appointment and pre-pay the visa for lodgement. A Flash Visa Services representative will meet you and guide you through the visa process on the day of your appointment.
Once Visa is ready will Flash Visa Services collect the Passport/Visa and deliver back to the Applicant.
Visas are required by South African passport holders.
Visa applications will be rejected if application forms are not fully completed & signed & are not accompanied by the required documents.
The possession of a visa is only one of the pre-requisites for entry into the territory of the Schengen state’s Border, authorities may refuse entry, no claim to reimbursement of the visa can be submitted.
The Schengen state’s consular offices reserve the right to request further documentation should it be deemed necessary.
For organized groups, arrangements should be made well in advance with the relevant issuing authority.
There is no guarantee that a visa will be issued.
Visa processing fees are not reimbursable if a visa is rejected
Certified parental consent, by both parents for children under 18 traveling alone. If the child travels with only one parent, the other parent must produce the notarized/certified consent. If only one parent has guardianship of a minor, the court documents stating so must be presented
The unabridged birth certificate must be submitted to identify the parents of the child.
A temporary passport is not accepted to travel or transit the Netherlands
