Requirements 
General Requirements
- Valid Passport (valid at least 6-9 months from the date of application)Ensure there are at least two adjacent blank pages to affix the visa.
- Application Form fully completed in CAPITAL letters – no faxed application forms are accepted (Click here)
- 2 photographs 45mm x 45mm. Please do not staple the photos onto application form.
- Full flight schedule from the travel agent
- Return air ticket (a photocopy will be accepted). E-tickets are usually accepted.
Additional Requirements for Business Visa
- ORIGINAL letter from applicant’s company/employer in SA stating the nature of the visit, as well as the names and addresses of companies the applicant, will visit in Japan. The letter must also confirm that the company will bear all costs for the visit ( ORIGINAL )i
- Invitation letter from a company in Japan that the applicant intends to visit
Additional Requirements for Tourist Visa
- Daily itinerary of places where the applicant will visit in Japan
- Names and addresses of hotels with copy/copies of booking vouchers
- ORIGINAL Stamped 3 months bank statements for last 3 months.
- Copy of invitation letter, should the applicant be invited by a friend/family (additional documents may be requested)
- Copy of invitees Alien Registration Card if the invitee is a foreigner staying in Japan OR copy of invitees passport if the invitee is a Japanese citizen.
MULTIPLE VISA
(a) In addition to the requirements for a Business Visa, the applicant (South African Passport holders only) must be a manager or higher or employed by that company for longer than one year.
(b) The official company letter must also confirm the employment period of longer than 1 year or that the applicant’s position is the manager or higher.
(c) Non-South African passport holders living in South Africa can apply for a Multiple Visa in certain circumstances. Contact the Visa Section for details on (012) 452-1500.

Important Note
- Visas are required by South African passport holders
- Visa applications will be rejected if application forms are not fully completed & signed & are not accompanied by the required documents.
- There is no guarantee that a visa will be issued.
- For organized groups, arrangements should be made well in advance with the relevant issuing authority.
- If Flash Visas Submit the application the applicant needs to collect his/her passport in person.
- If the Applicant submitted his/her passport in person, Flash Visa Services may collect the passport from the Embassy.
- South African temporary passports are accepted
