Requirements                              

General Requirements

• Original Passport
  • The original passport, valid for at least 6 months beyond intended stay.
  • The original passport should have at least 2 opposite blank pages (Visa pages)
• Completed visa application form, signed by the applicant.  (Click here)
• Two colour passport size photos (3x4cm) the photo must be recent (not older than 6 months), with a white background.
• The ORIGINAL Pathologist Test results; report for HIV, TB Test, Hepatitis B Test as well as Hepatitis C Test, these tests should not be older than one (1) month.

Additional Requirements for Business Visa

• Letter of employment stating the reason for travel
• Authorization Number from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the I.R. Iran
• Letter of invitation from the host in Iran

Important Note

• The Embassy will not refund the fee if the application is unsuccessful
• Warning: Travelers with passports issued by occupied Palestine regime will not be granted entry into Iran.
• Visas are required by South African Passport holders
• Visa applications will be rejected if application forms are not fully completed & signed & are not accompanied by the required documents.
• There is no guarantee that a visa will be issued.
• For organized groups, arrangements should be made well in advance with the relevant issuing authority.
• Visas will be issued upon receiving an invitation from a credible Iranian company (the partner in Iran). In the absence of an Iranian Partner, a written introduction by SA Chambers of Commerce or Financial Institutions will be needed by the Embassy to communicate receiving authorization from Iran which will be finalized within 5 working days.
• Travelers with Israeli passports will not be granted entry into Iran.

• 1. Contact your sponsor (i.e. Business associates, friends or relatives in Iran) and ask that they request a visa for you through our Foreign Ministry in Tehran. Tourists to apply through their Tour Operator or Travel Agency.
• 2. Once the Foreign Ministry approves your request, they will send us a visa authorization number.
• 3. Your contacts in Iran will also be informed of this authorization number.
• 4. Once you have obtained the authorization number, you can submit your documentation to the Consular section of the Embassy.
